#1 Headphone efforts.

Unread post by pre65 »

Hi, I was thinking about a dedicated headphone set up last night. So, this afternoon I got some old gear together and tried a few options.

I've tried CD and DVD players (several) with my old Bushmaster 2 DAC, and my old Yamaha CDX810 with it's dedicated headphone outlet and whatever I do it sounds like It's playing in an empty room !

My JBL headphones sound good with a laptop, and my portable CD player so I'm not sure where the incompatibility might be ? The headphones Jean uses on her laptop are just as bad, but are el cheapo.

EDIT. I tried the same disc in my laptop, and using media player got a good rendition. :?

Not wishing to give up, I've found a solution.

Using one of my NEC multispin 6X CD rom players I now have a simple, and effective headphone set up that works with my JBL headphones. :D

It's certainly is a step up from using my laptop.
