#1 Looking for a turntable

Unread post by chris661 »

Hi everyone,

I'm thinking about buying a turntable. Hoping for something complete and (ideally) set up and ready-to-go. Ideally, can easily switch between 33/45rpm.
Would prefer something of decent quality, but doesn't have to be amazing - this will mostly be playing charity shop finds and hand-me-downs. Have £2-300 to spend.

Anyone got anything gathering dust?
If not, any recommendations for things to find on eBay?

Thanks in advance,
Chris

A bit over budget, but I have to give my own trumpet a quick blast every now and then!

Buy this Kenwood . Damage to plinth will disappear with cleaning.

Then you will have an excellent deck.

It's cheap because it's Japanese, just make sure they pack it properly and protect the arm .

Obviously you'll need a headshell and cartridge if you don't have them

O yeah , you also need a step up/down transformer to work with uk mains . About 35 quid

I loved my so much I bought a 2nd one

Edit: i think theres a cart on it, so it should be good to go iirc, if not im sure i can find something

Hi Ant

back in the mists of time(4th May) you were going to send Seb a rega arm for the deck he was building. The last email said you were looking for a box.

I didn't hear anymore after that..what happened?

Thanks, all.

I have a friend that is considering moving their GL78 along, so I'm going to see what happens there - it's handy that they're local etc.

Failing that, Ant, I'd like take you up on the JVC.
Will get back to you as soon as I know either way.

I've got a free to anybody , rega 300 arm.

It as no finger lift , snapped off .

The phono arm leads at the base of arm as also been ripped off.

Nothing nobody on here can't fix. It also a tungsten counterweight .

Can I be second in the queue behind Shane - I need a tonearm for the Technics DD turntable I'm refurbishing.
Sorry, I couldn't resist!

You and Shane are the two people expressed an interest .

I have no idea who was first.

I suggest ray is heads and Shane is tails.

Shane was clearly first.
